The Netherlands...

I live in the Netherlands, in a city called Purmerend (near Amsterdam). My grandparents were from Germany --  a place called Glottau or Koningsberg, near the Russian border. My family has been living in Amsterdam since 1790. We are looking for Fechters in The Netherlands and have also found relatives in Germany. 

Brother in-law to Hans Goedhart

Peter Fechter and Anna Gröss were married in Glottau (Ostpreussen). They had more than one son but one of them, called Josephus (Joep) Fechter, went to the Netherlands in ± 1878 to a place called Raalte. We have the records of our Dutch family of the Fechters in order. Now, we are starting our examination in Germany. In January 2001 we are going to Berlin.
